Umrah and Hajj Pilgrims Can Now Instantly Access eSIM Services Upon Arrival in Saudi Arabia
To make travel more suitable for pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia, a new service now allows them to activate eSIM cards via mobile apps even before arrival. This ensures they have instant mobile connectivity the moment they land, an added benefit when booking the best Umrah package for a smooth and connected journey.
As part of Saudi Arabia’s push to go more digital and support pilgrims better. The country has launched a new system where international Hajj visitors can get their eSIMs ready using apps from local mobile companies, no needing to visit a shop or wait until they reach their hotel.
The plan is led by the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST), working with the Ministry of Interior and approved mobile operators. It ensures that visitors stay connected from the very start of their journey.
Pilgrims booking a Hajj package can now conveniently request an eSIM from Saudi providers even before their arrival. Using facial scan technology via the “Absher” digital platform. Their identity is securely verified, allowing the eSIM to be activated safely and remotely.
